Below are some of the most popular queries we receive. We hope this page is helpful to you, but if there’s anything we haven’t covered, drop us a line at info@threelittlebirds.ie !

 

  1. How do I place an order?

All orders are placed via the website. We have divided the prints into sections and have also created gift guides with some suggestions for special occasions. Greeting cards and stationery also have their own sections on the website and can be found through the main menu at the top of the page.

There are a number of options within the different listings on the website. A breakdown of options and their meaning are :

Size: Select the size you would like from A5 , A4,  A3 (more on sizes below)

Mount: This is an option to add a pure white mount to your print. With the mount included, the size will still be the size that you have chosen for your overall piece (A5, A4, A3).

Frame: Choose from a black or white wooden frame (for A5 or A4 only). The frames are hand finished, with glass front, hooks for wall mounting, and are made in Ireland. Choose the frame that is the same size as the print you are choosing – this is important!  So if you are choosing an A5 print, then select A5 for the framing option.

Personalise: By selecting this option, you can add extra text to your print. This will be written in calligraphy by hand and then added to the print, so it can technically be placed anywhere on the print, but in general we place it bottom centre. If you would like to see a preview of your piece before we post it out to you just add a note to your order at checkout and we’ll email you before final printing.

When you select “yes” for this option, a box will appear for you to fill in details. We read all notes that are submitted so please feel free to add as much detail as you need to and if we have any questions after reading it we’ll be in touch!

Custom Colour: where this option is given, you can change the colour of the hand lettered calligraphy and / or the background colour. When you select yes for this option, a box will appear where you can enter the colour(s) you would like incorporated. There is a colour guide to use if you would like to ensure a particular shade of colour, but otherwise, just pop the name of colour into the box!

  

  1. How do people generally use the “Personalise” option?

The personalise option is generally used to add a name or names, an important date, or a line of text or quote. With this option you can really make a piece extra personal, and a popular example is personalising a Wedding Venue art print with the couples names and wedding date. If you’re unsure if what you have in mind will fit just get in touch and we can walk you through it.

When you select “yes” for the personalise option, a box will appear for you to fill in details. We read all notes that are written into this box (there are no machines working behind the scenes here, only real people!) so feel free to add as much detail here and we’ll be in touch if we need to clarify anything.

 

  1. Can I see a preview of a personalised print before you post it ?

Yes absolutely, just add a note in the Notes box at checkout and we’ll email you a preview before final printing.

  1. In the calligraphy prints, can I change the colour of the calligraphy and/or background?

Where you see a “Custom Colour” option in listings then yes absolutely the colour of the calligraphy and/or background can be changed. Have a look at question 1 above for more on this.

 

  1. Do you do custom calligraphy prints?

Yes we have a number of commission slots available each month! Check out our Commissions page here for more information. If you have an idea for a custom Focail calligraphy print, check out our Design Your Own option here 

 

  1. Can I personalise a greeting card?

This isn’t an option within the greeting card listings on the website, but if there’s a card that you would like to personalise with calligraphy (or you’d like to create one from scratch with calligraphy), get in touch and we’ll work through the options with you!

 

  1. Can you help to suggest a gift for a wedding / birthday/ friend / new home?

We have created some gift guides for special occasions. These can be found in the main menu. We hope they are useful!

 

  1. Do you make wedding stationery?

We have created a range of nine wedding stationery suites, and we also have a Wedding Stationery Information Guide with lots of information about the ordering process, costs, and options. Check out our Wedding Stationery section of the website or email info@threelittlebirds.ie

 

  1. How long does shipping take?

We ship all orders with An Post, and our turnaround time is 2-4 working days. You can also choose to collect your order from the studio! We are on the Meath/ Cavan border (between Kells and Virginia). If you would like to collect, select the collection option at checkout. Please note that this turnaround time lengthens during busy periods, especially in October, November, and December. We print to order, and work to keep our turnaround times as short as possible, but if something is needed by a specific date during these busy times please get in touch before ordering.

  1. Do you offer a framing service?

We offer framing of A4 and A5 prints. Our frames are wooden, hand finished, with glass fronts, and made in Ireland. In each print listing on the site there is an option to frame, or if you’d like to buy a frame on its own (for a previously purchased print for example), we have a frame-only option here 

 

  1. What size prints do you make?

The main sizes are A5, A4, and A3. The dimensions for each are :

A5: 148mm x 210mm

A4: 210mm x 297mm

A3: 297mm x 420mm

 

  1. Are your products stocked in any shops?

Yes we work with some wonderful Irish retailers around the country. If you’d like to locate your nearest, just drop us a line and we’ll get back to you with a list of those nearest you. Contact us here 

 

  1. Do you do one-off illustrations?

We have a limited number of commission slots available each month for house portrait illustrations. You can find more information about these here 

 

 14. Can I send a gift directly to a friend / family? 

Yes! We have a Send Direct option, with more information here
